    Building super-human intelligence via Chess
  • Chess Mates

Often known as a game for the intellectually gifted, chess is the best sport to exercise the most important organ in our bodies: The Brain.

Kids of all ages can learn this classic game which will boost their brain power and give them that extra edge in school, all while having fun!
At Caterpillar Kids we’ve got Madhya Pradesh’s top chess players who will personally train the kids under the aegis of Mr. Akshat Kamparia, MP’s only FIDE-rated International Master, Founder of the Ilead Chess Academy at Mumbai.
    Why chess for kids?
It’s not about Kings, Queens, and Rooks, but rather, quadrants and coordinates, thinking strategically and foreseeing consequences. It’s about lines and angles, weighing options and making decisions. Chess might just be the perfect teaching and learning tool. Chess helps increase higher level thinking skills, advance math and reading skills, and build self-confidence.

    Chess Builds A Beautiful Mind

    Building analytical skills

Chess is one of the best sports to build analytical skills in children. Kids have to plan various moves, anticipate potential moves of their opponents, mentally compute probabilities of various outcomes. It may sound geeky, but kids are quick to learn this fascinating game of wit.

    Learn Visualization

The ability to visualize is considered one of the most-ignored skills in developing children. Chess provides an excellent training for one to visualize an entire game in his/her mind, and this becomes a life-long skill applicable in every sphere of studies and career.

    Exercise your Mind

Games like chess that challenge the brain actually stimulate the growth of dendrites, the bodies that send out signals from the brain’s neuron cells. With more dendrites, neural communication within the brain improves and becomes faster. It also exercises both sides of the brain.

    Accelerate Cognitive Development

With its focus on problem solving and move variables, it’s not surprising that chess can improve a student’s math skills. But numerous studies show that chess improves reading skills as well! It’s because the cognitive processes for both are similar—requiring decoding, thinking, comprehension, and analysis.
In separate multi-year studies of elementary-school-age children in Texas, Los Angeles, New York, Pennsylvania, and Canada, researchers found that students who played chess showed more improvement in reading and/or math assessment scores than their non-chess-playing peers.
